Weekly Newsletter

Howdy Ags,

We continue to make an effort to keep everyone up to date. We had the opportunity to gather for Family Night and bravely met at two locations simultaneously. Part of the club attended Double Dave’s Round Rock and a small group gave Double Dave’s Cedar Park a try. Our goal is to possibly gather some Aggies from the NW side of the county and make it easier for others to attend some of our events.

We will soon begin the process for our annual Fish Fry fundraiser so please keep an eye on the calendar and we look forward to having you join us to kick things into full gear.

As the new year kicks off we are happy to welcome new club members. Club dues go to support our scholarship efforts for deserving students. As a dues paying member it also allows you to advertise your business in our weekly newsletter and/or our website. With over 6,500 Aggies in the area it is a great way to spread your name in the county. One of our newest members is Terry Wilson ’88 who is also a newsletter sponsor.

While we are very excited to have new members involved with the club we still have several positions available if you would like to get involved.

I want to thank Joe Neal Kerr ’98 for stepping up as our new Networking Chair Person. Many of you who attend the luncheons already Joe Neal, please thank him next time yo see him. Joe Neal will be selecting luncheon locations and following up with a recap of all those who attended that day. Please continue to pass along your suggestions for new/favorite locations

It is that time of year for high school seniors to begin applying for scholarships. As A&M continues its admittance procedures, keep in mind that our WCAMC scholarship application is now available. While we have attempted to make sure that all Williamson County High Schools have access to the applications, we would also like to remind you that the application is available on our website;
Please keep in mind that the deadline for receiving applications is 1 APRIL ’16.

We would like to thank everyone who came out to Double Dave’s for our Muster Committee meeting on Thursday night. It certainly helped up our attendance at an already popular event. Certainly appreciate those who came early for dinner and fellowship.

If you were unable to attend the meeting it is is not too late to sign up and assist at Muster. Abby and her crew have done a great job of getting things lined up but could still use a hand on the day of. Please feel free to contact Abby or myself if you would like to assist, some areas still in need:
– check in table (two shifts)
– beverage sales
– set up

In addition, if you have a name you would like to answer ‘HERE’ for at Muster it would be beneficial to have that in advance if at all possible please send name and class year (if known) to

Please come out (with your four legged friend) and join us foe the SEC happy hour set for Tuesday 16 February at the Yard Bar. Be sure to wear your school colors and enjoy the evening, first five dogs get in free.

The date and location have been set for the Annual SEC Golf Tournament. This is a great event to come out and enjoy, while earning money for scholarships. Each school receives funds based on the number of teams that participate. Save the date, Sunday 24 April as we will tee it up at Shadow Glen in Manor with a shotgun start at 1PM. Sponsorship’s are available if you are interested in promoting your business. Registration will be open soon so keep an eye out. Feel free to sign up as a team or an individual and you will be paired with others from the same university.

The RRAMC would like to invite everyone to their annual Anniversary Dinner & Silent Auction on Saturday March 5, 2016 @ 6:30PM, benefiting their student scholarship program. Tickets are $20 for a night of dinner, entertainment, silent auction and must be purchased by 29 Feb. The event will be held at the Allen R Baca Center located at 301 W Bagdad in Round Rock. For additional information contact Melanie Busby:

We work hard to offer a variety of events in hopes that your schedule will allow you to join as often as possible. We realize everyone is busy but it is always good to take a little time for friends and expand your network. We will continue our ‘THURSDAY’ event schedule, but keep your eyes open for a few twist as we move through the year.

This week we will have our Networking Luncheon on Thursday 18 Feb at BJ’s Brewhouse – Round Rock, located in front of the outlet mall on IH-35.  Our new Committee Chair; Joe Neal Kerr ’98, is making plans for future venues. This location usually gives our ‘medical’ Aggies a reason to join us for lunch. We are still finalizing our Howdy Hour event but look to try one of the many new micro-brew pubs in the area. If you know of any locally owned Aggie establishments, please be sure to pass them along as we look to support local, particularly Aggie business’.
