PRESIDENT’S CORNER

Howdy Aggies,

While we still wait for some cooler weather in central Texas, we at least have football underway once again.

Aggie football has shown some strides defensively and the 12th Man came to life against UCLA. There was a lot of positive national coverage regarding the Bruins trip to Aggieland. There were also some very positive articles written by Bruins fan’s who made the trip. Proud that the Aggie Nation showed their true Texas hospitality. They are probably aware now that there is indeed a difference between 50,000 and 100,000 fans in the stands.

As a club, we continue to work toward providing networking opportunities as well social activities that fit varying interest. We are open to suggestions, as well as volunteers, to provide new and fun activities.

PRESIDENT’S CORNER

Howdy Aggies,

School has started and summer is coming to an end. That means that football and ‘cooler’ weather is right around the corner. We can hope can’t we?!?  As we live in central Texas the ‘cooler’ weather of fall is certainly ‘relative’ and short lived in these parts but kick-off to another season of Aggie football is only 10 days away.

As many of you prepare to head to campus for any of the sporting events, please be aware of the new ‘clear bag’ policy. We have put all the information as well as a link to the 12thMan policy details in this newsletter.

Thanks to all who came out for the SEC Picnic last weekend. The rain held off just long enough for us to enjoy most of the day, good Aggie BBQ thanks to Mr. Bill Benker ’90 and plenty of adult beverages. This event continues to grow and is a great draw for the entire family.  See event photos here.

As a club, we continue to work toward providing networking opportunities as well social activities that fit varying interest. We are open to suggestions, as well volunteers, to provide new and fun activities. Our search continues for our Hullabaloo Huddle watch parties location as we have yet to find a location that will be accommodating to our Maroon Spirit. If you know of an establishment that may be interested in hosting our A&M Club for game day watch parties please let us know. GigEm@wcamc.com

PRESIDENT’S CORNER

Howdy Aggies,

We have reached August and while the heat persist the good news is Aggie football is only 32 days away. With that, soccer and volleyball will be getting started as well. On campus, things have begun to pick up as Fish Camp is underway. Our local scholarship recipients along with 8,000 of their new ‘closest friends’ will begin moving into campus in the coming weeks and the Corps FOW check is will be 17 August. As you can imagine, things are gearing up in Aggieland.

To follow suit we are also getting things kicked off for our club to get ready for fall. In addition to our normal monthly gatherings returning to their regular schedule we are also beginning to plan for the SEC tailgate picnic. No better way to dust off your tailgate gear and invade Austin with all of the other SEC schools as we prepare for football season. Like last year there will be Aggie BBQ plates available for $10 Adults & $6 Kids (12 & under).  There will be VERY limited plates for sale at the picnic, so order your online https://tx.ag/SEC2016

As a club, we continue to work toward providing networking opportunities as well social activities that fit varying interest. We are open to suggestions, as well volunteers, to provide new and fun activities. It’s also time to begin the search for our Hullabaloo Huddle watch parties. If you know of an establishment that may be interested in hosting our club for game day watch parties please let us know. GigEm@wcamc.com

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

If you have been looking for a way to get more involved with the club we may have the perfect opportunity for you. We are in the process of planning a location for our Hullabaloo Huddle Watch Parties. If you are interested in trail visits to a few local establishments this may be the perfect fit for you. In addition we are working on a members business directory. No matter if you are new to the area or have been around for a while, when you need assistance around the house or professionally, it is always good to reach out to fellow Aggies who may be able to assist with your immediate needs. The Aggie directory would be a great place to find the right connection. Also, a good way to advertise your business or services.
