Weekly Newsletter

Howdy Aggies,

Hats off to Coach G and the soccer team as they have once again made it into the Elite 8 and will make a run at another title. Very exciting and a huge stride for the team considering how many seniors graduated and the number of under classman are on the squad. They have a rough road ahead but have defeated North Carolina and had a huge win against Ole Miss that came down to penalty kicks.

Things have kicked off on the hardwood and basketball season is getting ready to start in full swing. Be sure to catch the men’s and women’s programs as there will be some exciting games this year. The men will have a rough Thanksgiving as they will be in the Bahamas for a tournament. They will be playing the t-sips while there so let’s hope they come out with a win. Both the programs have started off well and could be an exciting year.

On a final note, the volleyball team has won twelve straight and ranked nationally. Hitting their stride at the right time as we near the end of the season and begin a hunt for a national championship run.

GEORGETOWN SENIOR SIGNS WITH AGGIE VOLLEYBALL

Congratulation to Maddie Douglas from Georgetown High School. She signed her letter of intent to play volleyball for Coach Corbelli and the Texas Aggies. Maddie has played on the varsity squad at Georgetown for three years and has set a number of school record in that time. Pictured below with Maddie are her mother and father, Trish and Nathan.

Having prevailed through difficult times, Maria and her sons Hans Jorg and Hans Peter arrived in America on Thanksgiving Day, 1947 to join her husband who had been sent ahead six months earlier. It was then that Maria changed young Hans Jorg’s name to York in order to preserve the phonetic pronunciation of his name in this new land. The two brothers were joined by baby sister Carin in November 1948, completing the young family. Howdy Ags,

Rough weekend on the athletic front as the soccer team lost in the SEC Championship Tournament on Sunday against Florida.  The team was outscored 2-1, but did you know in the last three tournaments it was the first two goals they had allowed?  That’s right, they played almost three entire SEC tournament matches and allowed just 2 goals.  On a positive note, the team started 5 freshman on Sunday which means the future should be bright.  Hats off to Coach G and the team as they await their future NCAA location which will be announced on Monday.  Best of luck in their pursuit of a national championship.
I am sure many of us are scratching our heads regarding the football team.  Our high ‘high power’ offense struggled to say the least.  Another game at Kyle Field this week and if you are not able to make it to Aggieland, our watch party will get started at 6PM for a 6:30 kick-off against Western Carolina.  Our watch party will once again be at George’s so join us on the patio.
Things have kicked off on the hardwood and basketball season is getting ready to start in full swing.  Be sure to catch the men’s and women’s programs as there will be some exciting games this year.  On a final note, the volleyball team has won eight straight and is now 10-2 in SEC play.  Hitting their stride at the right time as we near the end of the season.

Weekly Newsletter

Howdy Ags,

October has arrived and the cool weather that teased us for a few days has disappeared.   With any luck it will soon return and the fall atmosphere will be in full swing. Plenty of Aggie athletics to occupy everyone’s interest, whatever it might be.

Coach ‘G’ and the soccer team had another shut-out at Ellis Field, this time against the Crimson team from T-town. You may also recall that the team was able to shut-out the Bulldogs prior to the football teams victory at Kyle Field. Let’s be optimistic that the string will continue!?!

Both golf teams have been traveling the country for various tournaments, making a promising showing for the program. Volleyball is in the thick of conference play and basketball starts in about 30 days. Hard to believe an entire slate of athletic activities on the horizon.

Of course the game that is on everyone’s mind is Saturday at 2:30 in Kyle Field as the Saban lead ‘Bama’ team comes to town. If you are making the trip over to Aggieland, be sure to leave early as larger than normal crowds are expected. The weather forecast, while possibly a little warm for October, should be ideal for tailgating. With an afternoon game you can start early, enjoy a great game and continue the festivities after. For those not making the trip east we will have our Hullabaloo Huddle (watch party) again and details on that are listed below.

HULLABALOO HUDDLE

If you are unable to make it to College Station this weekend make plans to join fellow Aggies for our watch party at George’s. The patio, as well as the bar, will be full of Ags and heighten the atmosphere as opposed to sitting at home. The Chef is working on something special out of the kitchen and Donny has a ‘bucket of beer’ special that will be perfect for a day on the patio while watching the Aggies BTHO Bama!

WEEKLY EVENTS

Join us this week for our networking lunch at Verdes in Round Rock. Close to IH-35 and easy access should make it easy for many to join us. If you are looking to expand your business network or just discuss Aggie sports, be sure to come out and join us.

Weekly Newsletter

Howdy Ags,

We have had a few cool mornings which leads us to believe that fall weather is around the corner, we can hope right?!? It is officially fall according to the calendar but ‘mother nature’ is slow to deliver here in central Texas.

Aggie athletics is in full swing as both the men’s and ladies golf team are hitting the links, soccer is into conference play as is volleyball. The equestrian team has also begun competing, are they matches, or events? Both basketball teams kick off practice this week as well, so whatever your sport preference you can certainly get your fill with Aggies participating.

I am sure many of you had your fill of excitement on Saturday as the football team provided us with a little ‘free football’ as they once again went into overtime against Arkansas in Dallas. While there is a lot of similarities between the team this year compared to last, lets be positive that things will continue on the right track as the team returns to Kyle Field on Saturday. It will be an evening game and details regarding the watch party are listed below. It will be exciting to see a full Kyle for a night SEC game.

As we enter the fall we will begin looking at officer positions for the coming year. New officers will be put into place at the beginning of 2016. If you have any interest in getting more involve with the club now is a good time to begin thinking about that. Feel free to speak with any current officers or board members and we will be glad to answer any questions.

AUSTIN SEC CLUB HAPPY HOUR/SOCIAL

Join us for a little mid-season ribbing as we gather with the Austin SEC Club for the fall Happy Hour. Drink specials available and we have also partnered with a few new vendors that will be on hand. This is a great way to break up the mid-week doldrums. Make plans to attend as the fun begins at 5:30, stay as late as you like. www.facebook.com/events/854617581287757

HULLABALOO HUDDLE

Certainly want to thank George’s on the Town for inviting our group out to enjoy Aggie football games. The atmosphere on the patio Saturday was fantastic as we had a group of new faces as well as many familiar and frequent friends. If you joined us there for the first game it may have been a little less than you expected so give it another shot and I believe you will be pleasantly surprised.

Please join us again on Saturday for the kick-off against Mississippi State. It will once again be a night game and perfect weather to enjoy on the patio or in at the bar, kick-off is scheduled for 6:30PM. This continues to be a good draw, our objective is to provide an opportunity for Aggies to gather together to celebrate and Yell for the boys in MAROON.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY AGGIE MOMS

Next month we are going to have the dean at the Texas A&M Health Science Center as our guest speaker. We welcome all Aggies including prospective students to join us. Make your first visit to the facility and learn more! Here is the info on that meeting:

WEEKLY EVENTS

This week we will kick off a new month with our Reveille Networking breakfast in Thursday 1 October. Join us at Rudy’s 7-8AM on your way to work for a quick taco and a little Aggie football discussion.

Next week (8 October) we will be at Double Dave’s for one of our favorite events, FAMILY NIGHT. Always a good crowd and a chance to catch up with everyone. A good excuse not to fix dinner and feed the gang on the way to or from all of the kid’s activities. This event continues to grow in popularity and last month was one of our largest events on record

The following week (15 October) our Networking Lunch will be at Verdes (https://www.verdesmexicanrr.com/). This is a great restaurant, close to the interstate for easy access. Hope to see you for lunch and be sure to bring your resume if you are in the job market.

With all the fall activities and particularly watch parties, we have decided to suspend the Howdy Hours. Take advantage of the SEC event this month for a chance to get out and mingle with some new folks

On a final note, while we encourage everyone to pay their club dues and support our scholarship efforts, you are always welcome to join us at any of our events an expand your Aggie Network.

Enjoy the short week and BTHO Miss State!
